About
Frank "The Tank" Classens
Frank "the Tank" Classens was a caring, kind, and affectionate man who showed nothing but love and respect to the people he met throughout his life. Anyone that met him knew how much of a genuine person he was. A loving husband and caring father, he and his wife Tammy raised three children who live their lives with the values their father instilled in them. Respect was something that Frank was known for- he would treat you like his own family and take care of you in the time of need. He would never back down from a challenge, even if he knew he didn't stand a chance, but by God would he make you laugh during that time. Ask any family member about his renowned "Frankisms" and they will tell you many stories that will inevitably bring a smile to your face. An avid Georgia Bulldogs fan, he was always there to watch the Dawgs on Saturdays and cheer them on to victory!
But..... What Frank was known for the most was his love and passion for the game of Golf. Spring and Summer time was always golf time. Some people would go get drinks after work to unwind, but Frank would go swing the clubs and even dominate in the local leagues. If you came over to the house during the weekends, you would always see him watching a Golf tournament -when he wasn't working on the house, that is! This is why starting a Golf tournament made so much sense to honor his life and legacy. By registering and paying the tournament fee, you are helping to not only pay for fun items (because we want you to enjoy your time as Frank would want) but you're donating to causes that will ensure Frank's legacy lives on.
Charities you'll be supporting:
Frank Classens was diagnosed with Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer in the spring of 2018, and passed from this world on October 9th, 2018. This is a far too common scenario for those afflicted with Pancreatic Cancer. The five-year survival rate is only 9% for patients with Pancreatic Cancer, but with your generous participation and support, we can work to change that. Half of the proceeds raised will go towards Pancreatic Cancer research, Frank was a proud U.S. Air Force Veteran and Retiree, who was laid to rest at the Jacksonville, MO Veterans Cemetery. The other half of the proceeds raised will go towards ensuring the other Missouri Veterans, who have given so much to their country, will receive the same honor and respect that Frank did at the end of his life.
